Dino and his bucket drop
------------------------
Dino is a cool, smooth monster from the planet Edsof who has been
transported to Earth in disk form to help you with your maths.
On Edsof there is a fairground where you can play bucket drop,
a game of skill and coordination.
This game is a faithful representation of the Edsof game of bucket drop.
As a player of the game your objective is to prevent DRONGO, the evil
wizard from filling all your buckets with equations which he drops
through a funnel in the ceiling.
To prevent an equation from reaching a bucket you must POP it. To POP
it you must type the correct answer to the equation before it reaches
the bucket.
The more equations you POP the higher your score.
Watch out though, if the evil DRONGO is on the screen when you type an
answer he will steal TWICE the points you would get for answering that
equation.
Help is as hand in the shape of my friend and yours FELIX who will
TRIPLE your points for a correct answer to an equation when he is on
the screen.
Dino is also ready to bail you out. Pressing the <space bar> when an
equation is falling towards a bucket causes Dino to show you the
correct answer.

Preparing a new disk
--------------------
Your first task before playing Dino's bucket drop should be to make a
backup copy of the disk.
Just follow these steps below if your PC has two floppy disk drives.
1. Put a write protect tab on the Dino's bucket drop disk, so that it
is not erased in the event of a mistake
2. Put a DOS system disk in drive A and boot the system. (turn the
power on)
3. When the "A>" prompt appears, type the command:
FORMAT B:/S
and press enter.
(or a format command appropriate to the type of disk you are
using. e.g. 3 1/2 inch 720k disk or 5 1/4 inch 1.2mb floppy)
4. The program will ask you to
Insert new diskette for drive B:
and strike any key when ready
Make sure that the program is asking you to put the disk in drive
B:, then put a new blank disk in drive B: and pick a key to press
5. After the disk is formatted, it will ask you
Format another (Y/N)?
Press the letter N to return to the "A>" prompt.
6. Remove the DOS disk from drive A: and place the Dino's bucket drop
disk in drive A:.
Now type the command:
COPY A:*.* B:
COPY A:DINO2.BAT B:AUTOEXEC.BAT
7. When all the files are copied you are ready to use the disk.
NOTE: Dino's bucket drop requires a minimum of 360k on the diskette
to operate.
8. To test your new disk place it in drive A: and reboot the system by
pressing the CTRL-ALT-DEL keys simultaneously. After a moment the
program should display the opening screen and Dino should appear.
Then it will go on to the main menu.
If it does not then repeat this process again.

9. The new disk you created can now be used in day to day use.
Simply put the disk in drive A: and turn the power on.
10. The original disk should be stored in a safe storage place and only
used if you want to make a new backup copy.

Starting Dino's bucket drop
---------------------------
If the disk is brand new you should make a copy of the disk first for
your protection and then use that disk.
The section on page 4 preparing a new disk will help you make a backup
copy of the disk and place the DOS operating system on it.
Steps 1 and 2 below will work only if you have made a new disk with DOS
on it.
Step 3 below will work even on the original disk.
You may use one of the following steps to start Dino's bucket drop.
1. If the computer is off, just put the Dino's bucket drop disk in
drive A and turn the power on.
or 2. If the power is already on, put the Dino's bucket drop disk in
drive A and press the keys CTRL, ALT and DEL simultaneously, causing
a warm boot.
or 3. If you just want to see how the original disk works. Boot the
system normally, then place the Dino's bucket drop disk in drive A
and type:
A:
DINO2
or 4. If you have a hard disk then refer to page 6 for instructions on
both installing and starting Dino's bucket drop.
